As per USP, it is said that disks reduce the disintegration time. hence if we are formulating a faster release drug, then disks are used.

For example: oral dispersible tablets are evaluated using disks.

In not any pharmacopoeia this is mention that disks should be used .In actual practices we dont use the disks if some product is fialed the we repeat it with disc abd no disc used in acid phase off DT of Enteric Coated
