4) A number when divided by D leaves a remainder of 8 and when divided by 3D leaves a remainder of ..

Answer / neelam venkata balaji

let's number is n
so n=Dx+8------->1
n=3Dy+21--------->2
from 1 & 2 D(x-3y)=13
here 13 is prime number so it has factors 1 and 13 only
x-3y must be 1
let x=4 and y=1
then n=60
so 2n is divided that is 120 by 3D that is by 39 we get
the remainder as 3

let's number is n

n=3Dy+21--------->2
from 1 & 2 D(x-3y)=13
here 13 is prime number so it has factors 1 and 13 only
x-3y must be 1
let x=4 and y=1 BUT THESE NUMBER DONT SATISFY EQ 1 AND 2 IE
IF WE PUT X=4 IN 1 WE GET N=50 AND IF WE PUT Y = 1 IN 2 WE
GET N=60
SO WE LET X=7 AND Y = 2
then n=99
so 2n is divided that is 198 by 3D that is by 39 we get
the remainder as 3

Answer / avinash kulkarni

number be n
i.e divided by D i.e= n/D=8;
divided by 3D is n/3D=21;
question is n/3d=21 i.e 21/3D
so, 21/3*1/D
7*1/D=7/D
there is not at all possible to divide 7.. if so, we will get an ans in decimals
so, ANS IS....

Ram was travailing back from his friend house in his old ambassador. He could only travel along at a steady 30 miles per hr and managed a paltry 20 miles per litere of fuel. At the start of the journey he has placed exactly 10 litre of fuel into a tank. He knew though that the fuel tank lost fuel at the rate of half a liter per hhour. As ram arrived home the car stopped because it had run out of a fuel and h only just made it. How far was his friends house from rams. a.200 b.150 3.210 d170
