In a Solaris system, if the root disk fails, you can recover and replace it using one of the following methods:
1. Boot from a backup media: You can boot your system from a CD or DVD containing a backup of your root disk.
2. Use the Solaris Live Upgrade feature: This allows you to upgrade or roll back your system while keeping services running without the need for reboots.
3. Manual replacement: If neither of the above options is available, you can manually replace the root disk by following these general steps:na. Identify a new root disk and format it.nb. Boot from a Solaris CD or DVD and mount the new root disk as /newroot.nc. Copy the contents of the old root disk to the new root disk using the "dump" and "restore" commands.nd. Reboot your system, setting the new root disk as the boot device.
