2189I passed my 10th ( CBSE ) in 1998 ( 76% marks ).I did a Three Year Engineering Diploma in Computer Science in the period 2002 - 2005 ( 83% marks ).I did National Open School 12th Standard in 2009 - 2010 with Eng,Phy,Chem,Bio,Maths as subjects ( 84% marks ).I have Academic Gap in the period 1998 - 2002 and 2005 - 2009 as I was involved in family run small scale business.Now I plan to do Undergraduate Degree in Business in the U.S.A.I am now 28 years old.Will the Academic Gap affect my chances to get admission ?

1 3990I’m Rakesh,presently studying in SRM college(BSc-computer science). My visa got rejected. Here is my case. I completed my 12th grade and I scored 1037 and scored 86 in TOEFL ibt. I did not immediately apply for the USA university,there was a gap of one year,during this one year I’m doing my BSc-computer science in SRM college. I got the I20 from the De anza community college,cupertino,california. I’m going to pursue Computer information system in De anza. The VO asked me that, why am I changing from bsc course? secondly, he asked “why are you going for the 2 year college rather than picking a four year college”? And thirdly,he asked me why dint you apply for the college as soon as you complete your 12th grade? Why are you suddenly discontinuing this college and going for De anza? So let me know the ways to get thru the interview!

5 16995hello me shavi..today was my interview regarding f1 visa for MS in IT....BUT i got rejection..The VO asked me..how many university have u applied to?? i said one that is concordia university wisconsin..den she said why u have not applied more than one univ.i replied...i attended a seminar that was organized by concordia univ in our city..where i submited all my documents,den they approved my addmisson nd gave me conformation letter,,,so den i didnot feel any need to apply for another univ....then VO asked......a long lec..nd in the end she said...u r not a serious student.....now tell me wt shud i do..if i apply again for interview nd wannna to apply in more than 2 univ..den wt costs i have to bear......i also have not given any TOEFL nd IELTS coz dese r not required for concordia univ...suggest me wt to do now if i apply again for interview...

I actually had applied for 5 other universities but for electrical engineering program.Will they create a big problem for my visa?? 2381To my surprise,my visa interview was too short and shocking. I had 1310 in gre and 109 in toefl. I completed BE in Elect and comm with 75% in 2007 and had been working in a multinational software company since then. i applied for masters in elect and comm in Lamar university with 60% fee waiver.. here goes the interview VO:( took my documents) how many universities??(raising his eyebrow) Me:2 VO: Looking at me with questioning eyes? Me: Lamar university, Texas and Cleveland State University, Ohio. VO: Why did u apply for Cleveland University? Me: This is a good university, i got good reviews about this university from online forums and communities and it was offering me right courses in computer networking along with other courses in Electrical Engineering..... VO: Interrupted... it is not a very high ranking university, how can u say its a good university? Me: Ranking of the university was not my sole criteria... VO: Interrupted... ohh!!! (sarcastically) what was your criteria? Me: I focused on the department and the courses that were being offered.. Moreover, I got good feedback.... VO: Go.. Me: ok. can u give me the reason? VO: next one come.. I don't understand what went wrong?

HI im currently a third year engineering student. sir i am a nurse....i have applied for f1 student visa,for tofel study....but...they asked to me wht was your mode of study language,,,,ie english..the why u go for tofel? they told me..this time u nr not eligible for visa...and gave one paper.i asked to him sir what is the reason for rejection?they mentioned that fund is not sufficient...but they did not asked about any fund....what should i do for next application...?

Hi, I just have a question regarding my PhD admission with North Dakota State University without assistantship. I have already completed my Masters from NDSU and was working in the US for a couple of years, I however returned to India last year. I was in touch with my guide concerning pursuing my PhD at NDSU. I have now been offered admission at NDSU for the PhD program for Fall 2010, and I have also finalized my research area (extension of Master's research area), however I have not been given an official assistantship / aid letter from my department. My department is however saying that I will be definitely offered assistantship if I land up at NDSU in Fall. My concern is now about the Visa interview in which I will have to show personal liquid funds for 5 years of doctoral study. Can you please suggest a way by which I wont be asked to show 5 years of funding..since I have unofficially got the assurance of aid/tuition waiver. Please let me know.
