Mutations are sudden changes that occur in the genome of an
organism.These sudden changes involves point mutations like
substitution, deletion or addition of base pairs which may
sometimes result in an altered phenotype.These mutations
may be caused by the physical agents like x-rays, uv rays
etc. or by chemical agents like ethyl methl sulphonate,
nitrous acid,hydoxyl amine,etbr and other carcinogens.
