how to stop the process using process name

1) First of all find the process as follows:
#prstat | grep <process-name>
(or)
#ps -ef |grep <process-name>
2) After findinf the process-id of that process u want to
stop,do the following:
#kill -9 <process-id>
(or)
#pkill -9 <process-name>
(or)
#pkill -9 <process-id>
