Simply, the main difference between desktop application and web application is, desktop application are those application which we can run on PC OR Any other device without Internet connection, while run web application we must need Internet connection to run on a devices. For example MICROSOFT OFFICE, Any other software which are made for the business activities are the example of desktop application. And the example of web application is different type of ASP website or a large business software which are located in different location of the country that they can On-line share their business activities.
