I know during Surge Impedance Loading maximum power is
transferred through a transmission line and also Sending end
voltage becomes equal to Receiving end voltage i.e Vs=Vr so
my question is if both end voltages are equal then how
current travels in such line hence how power is transmitted
because flow of current needs Potential difference??

actually here we are dealing with phasors in AC system .and
Vs and Vr are equal in magnitude but not in phase angle.
power flows from Vs/_ᵟ to Vr/_0 according to the equation of
real power flow
P= Vs Vr Sin(ᵟ) Vs/_ᵟ - Vr/_0
------ = ---------------

actually in phasors although their magnitude is equal but
still their difference is not zero and an appriciable
voltage difference exist between the two ends which trigger
current and hence power to flow,

As per standard, transformer body earthing and other Equipment earthing (Equipment earthing) did not connect. but in LT side termination we are doing metal glanding in both side Transformer to PCC Panel through armoured cable, now X'mer body earthing and PCC Pane earthing (Equipment earthing) both are connect.is this safe for X'mer or other equipment?

My question is it necessary to install an arrestor on every tank or will this particular one be covered by the arrestor installed on the ajdacent tank, Since all the tanks are close to each other. We have drive feeding an output contactor for a 5000 hp motor @ 5kV application. The motor FLA is 629amps x 1.25% service factor = 786.25 amps The cable that we current have in place between the drive and the output contactor is 350kcmil- MV-105 (parallel cables). Per the NEC table 310.60 (C) (69). This show the cable ampacity is at 615 amps per cable for a rating of 1230 amps. We have derated the cable for the cable tray and the multiple cables application and our calculations show that after the correction factor factor we are at 922amps. 1230 amps x .75% correction factor factor = 922.5 amps. The customer is driving us to then use another safety factor of .25% off of the already derated cable. Can you please provide a longhand calculation for your solution on this application?
