Mobility Management is The process starts when the Ms is

c.plmn selection
d.cell selection
e.location update
f.idle mode

* 1st state switchOn is nothing but to press the power
button of the Ms(to wake up the mobile )
*In second state The ms starts searching a
suitable(powerful)cell by measuring the strongest BCCH
cchannel and this is the primary stage when a Ms try to make
contact a PLMN
* 3rd state Ms selects the PLMN(generally the service
provider network),PLMN selection are of 2 types A.manual
PLMN selection,B.automatic PlMN selection.
A. Manual selection the Mobile user can choose a service
provider by selecting one service provider name manually
from the given list.
B.MS automatically choose a service provider which SIM is
inserted in it,some time MS choose a different service
provider automatically but only to facilitate emergency
calls(Limited service)like 100.
* In order to make and receive call the MS must
Update(register) its location to the network.Location
update is done periodically say in every 5 minutes or
special instances like when a mobile is changing RRC state
it also mandatory to update the location
* when a MS is not actively interacting with the N/W and the
location is unknown then say it is in IDLE state.(NOTE:when
the MS wants to make a call or a call is routed to ms it
should first update its location then only dedicated
channels should assign to Ms to get the service)
