How much is the signal amplified? and what is the total
gain? when a signal is passed through three cascaded
amplifiers, each with a 5 dB gain.

Answer Posted / hanif

Since dB is a logrithmic measure,
total gain in dB is the sum of the component dB values:
Total gain = 5dB + 5dB + 5dB = 15dB
For power:
dB=10log(P2/P1)
For power gain of three stages:
3.1623 x 3.1623 x 3.1623 = 31.65dB
15dB=10log(P2/P1)(P2/P1)= 10^(15/10) = 31.6
