what happens when ac supply is given to D.C motor.

Answer Posted / swarupa

In ac supply the magnitude and direction of voltage or
current changes for every half cycles so the dc motor may run
but in very low speed due to less torque develop & also due
to inertia. If it is run continue the frequency losses may
increase due to high heat. The efficiency poor.
