character.Only allowed these chars otherwise we will reject

Do it in Unix shell script . Search through "grep" for value
between [0-9] [A-Z] & other criteria .If condition doesn't
satisfy.U can pass a parameter stating invalid.

Hi, I want to change date type char value integer value? I tried alter table tab_name modify (newcolumn newdatetype). But The columns have 10 million values(char type) so I want to load now numeric data. How it is possible?
