What is the technical formula to calculate the load taken by a motor in Amperes ?
Answer Posted / anand_gupta112001
Amperes when horsepower is known
1) HP x 746/E x Eff x pf (for single phase)
2) HP x 746/1.73 x E x Eff x pf (for 3 phase)
Amperes when kilowatts are known
3) Kw x 1000/E x pf (for single phase)
4) Kw x 1000/1.73 x E x pf (for 3 phase)
Note: I = Amperes; E = Volts; Eff = Efficiency; pf = Power Factor; Kva = Kilovolt-amperes; Kw = Kilowatts
