In DC motor, The stator and rotor are calles as the
armature and field.

The armature is a rotation part and field is a coil (like
inductive coil).

If we are giving DC to field coil, The coil act as a
temporary magnet. The magnetic field passed to the armature
winding through induction. The flex difference between
armature and field will stimulate the armature to rotate.

This is the way the electrical energy converted into
mechanical energy in DC motor.

Damping resistor provided in open delta (tartiary) winding of a measuring PT at the incoming of a MV inverter drive panel is getting heated up. Can any body explain the reasons and suggest the remedy?
