in india ac frequency is 50hz, but in foreign countries it
is 60hz,whwt is the reason

mainly for higher frequencies the transmission losses are
more. so for short distance transmission 60 hz is good as
the cost of generators and transformers will be less as they
are smaller bin size as compared to the ones in 5o hz
system. in india maybe to reduce the transmission losses 50
hz is used as generating stations are quite far away.....
