What Is The Sales Funnel
When the sales funnel is drawn - that is exactly what it
looks like a big funnel, just like the sort that is used
pour liquid into a bottle. However, instead of funneling
liquid into a bottle, the sales funnel transfers people
from suspects to life long customers.
Let's look at the terminology or classification of people
here:
Suspects - just about anyone with a heart beat is a
suspect. These are people that you "suspect" would be
interested in your product or service but you really don't
know. Simply visiting your website or your store isn't a
strong enough indication that they are interested, that
they will buy - they are still suspects at this time.
Prospects - is someone who displays interest in your
services. This interest may be shown by asking a series of
questions, signing up for your newsletter (in the case of a
website) or requesting more information. At this point, the
suspect becomes a prospect - they may "prospectively" buy
your product or service.
Qualified Buyer - A qualified buyer is simply that -
someone who has purchased something from you. They may have
purchased one thing only - making them a buyer as opposed
to a lifelong customer.
Lifelong Customer - A repeat customer - someone who has
bought several things from you is a lifelong customer.
Lifelong customers are great for your business.
