Three years back my friend's brother had attended visa interview. Eventhough his all documents were perfect than they wat to be, VO didnt gave visa to him. He told that VOs just reject visa to get more money for visa office as it costs more than 100$ each time to register for interview. Again he applied with the same documents but he got visa....is it true....they just reject visa for the purpose he told........pls give me a genuine answer.....

Dear Friends. I hv a valid F1 visa till 2012. Due to family emergency I came to India in Feb 2010 and I am still in India. Recently I came to know that I have to give visa interview again because I am away from US for more than 5 months. Hi, I just have a question regarding my PhD admission with North Dakota State University without assistantship. I have already completed my Masters from NDSU and was working in the US for a couple of years, I however returned to India last year. I was in touch with my guide concerning pursuing my PhD at NDSU. I have now been offered admission at NDSU for the PhD program for Fall 2010, and I have also finalized my research area (extension of Master's research area), however I have not been given an official assistantship / aid letter from my department. My department is however saying that I will be definitely offered assistantship if I land up at NDSU in Fall. My concern is now about the Visa interview in which I will have to show personal liquid funds for 5 years of doctoral study. Can you please suggest a way by which I wont be asked to show 5 years of funding..since I have unofficially got the assurance of aid/tuition waiver. Please let me know.

I wish to do my graduate studies in one of the us universities in the field of computer science starting Fall 2010 and am waiting admission information from 1-2 univs. Two years back, I had attempted for H1-B visa which was put on hold. Subsequently since I got a good job in India, I did not pursue H1-B visa. Now I wish to continue with my studies after getting some job experience. My problem What shoudl I write in the DS-160 column asking: Whether you had applied for US visa earlier, if so what is the result. Whether I should write: applied for H1-B visa but put on hold or applied for H1-B visa, denied. Whether this will come in the way of my securing F-1 visa now? I’m Rakesh,presently studying in SRM college(BSc-computer science). My visa got rejected. Here is my case. I completed my 12th grade and I scored 1037 and scored 86 in TOEFL ibt. I did not immediately apply for the USA university,there was a gap of one year,during this one year I’m doing my BSc-computer science in SRM college. I got the I20 from the De anza community college,cupertino,california. I’m going to pursue Computer information system in De anza. The VO asked me that, why am I changing from bsc course? secondly, he asked “why are you going for the 2 year college rather than picking a four year college”? And thirdly,he asked me why dint you apply for the college as soon as you complete your 12th grade? Why are you suddenly discontinuing this college and going for De anza? So let me know the ways to get thru the interview!

My nephew is second year in high school in China and is coming to the US for two year high school study and then would like to go for a 4 year college. On the DS-165 form, should he say he will stay in the U.S. for 2 years or for 6 years ( 2+4)? thank you in advance for any thoughts on this.
