Carotene was isolated from carrots.
ALPHA CAROTENE:VIOLET CRYSTALS;M.P.187 DEGREES
CENTIGRADE:OPTICALLY INACTIVE;
BETA CAROTENE:RED CRYSTALS,M.P:183 DEGREES
CENTIGRADE"OPTICALLY INACTIVE.
