as we know that it works on electro magnetic indsuction
law.when dc will apply on the primary so there is no induce
emf.as we know that in case of ac emf is imnduce whose
direction is to oppose applied voltage as like in case of dc
motors... this can be understand by lenz law...
so because of no opposition it will draw more current as
compare 2 ac case... oviously it will burnt... but there
will be 1 spike in 2ndry
