There are 8 balls that look identical. One of them weighs
less than the others. Given a weighing scale, how will you
find this ball.

Answer Posted / venniraisundar

Incase of odd number of balls...........

Tk for ex there r 7 balls and of that one ball is of less
weight, Now weigh the 1st 3 balls and note down the weight,
weigh the 3rd, 4th and 5th ball and again note down the
weight then weigh 5th 6th and the 7th ball and note down its
weight. Since only one ball is of less weight , Of the three
sets weighed the set wit less weight will contain that ball.
Now tk tht particular set and repeat the same
procedure,weigh the 1st 2 balls then the 2nd and 3rd
ball, again of the 2 sets one with least weight will contain
the ball with least weight. Tk that particular set and weigh
the 2 balls. U vl identify the ball with least weight.

One more answer is that since they have not specified the
number of trails for weighing the balls, U can weigh every
ball seperately and also identify the ball with least weight.
