how to find the nic card name in x86, if it is not
installed?

Answer Posted / stratovarius

1.#ifconfig -a
2.#cat /etc/path_to_inst
3.#dladm show-dev

Should show you an NIC listing. The sys-unconfig command is
use to reconfigure your system settings such as host names,
ip address etc, using this command should detect an
undetected NIC or a new NIC.

4.#touch /reconfigure and ok boot -r are better options if
you drop in a new nic.
