Configuration Management:
1)It is a Process.
2)when a change Request come,There
will be a board in every company for each Project.that is
called CCB(Change Control Board). It will be headed by
Change Controller.
3)at 1st there will be a meeting in
CCB regarding the change.
4)They will analyse the change
(Impact Analysis).
5)They mainly analyse whether that
change affects the cost, quality or time.
6)If it is approved,Then they will
accept the change or otherwise they may decline to accept
the change.
7)If they accept the change,1st
they will see where exactly in the application they have to
do the change.
8)Then the concerned developer
from VSS or (Repository) takes the baselined code and he
will change as per the Request.
9)Then it will go for Retesting.
10)After testing is over again a
new versioned baselined code will be put into the Repository
(VSS).
So These Processes mentioned above is a process. The Whole
Process is known as Configuration Management.
