Question { 14099 }
what is a four stroke engine?
Answer
in an four stroke engine for 2 rotations of the crankshaft
one power stroke is obtained...that is 1)suction (1st half
rotation-TDC to BDC) 2)compression (2nd half rotation-BDC to
TDC) 3)POWER STROKE (3rd half rotation-TDC to BDC) and 4)
exhaust stroke (4th half rotation-BDC to TDC)
in case of 2 stroke engine....for every rotation of the
crank shaft one power stroke is obtained...during the travel
of piston from BDC to TDC-compression + suction into the
crank case takes place..during the travel from TDC to
BDC-power + transfer of air into cylinder causes exhaust of
burnt gases
