Answer / aa

chander=c sunder=s maninder=m

1. if m sees two white caps infront of him on c and s he
would have answered black. when he says he doesnot know that
sures one thing that c and s are wearing combination of
white and black or both black.
2. if s sees a white cap on c he would have readily shouted
black as if his head had white cap then m would have
answered the question, since m didnt. now if he sees a black
cap on c head he again does not know whether his head has
black or white.
3.since s answered doesn't know, c catches the point that he

4. There are five caps , 3 black and 2 white. three persons chander, sunder and maninder are ..

Answer / chandra

1. Maninder – Can answer when others are wearing white
caps. But he gets confused as Sunder & Chander are wearing
either combination of Black & White or both Black caps.

2. Sunder - Since Manindar doesn’t know his cap color,
Sunder also concluded that he and Chander are wearing
either combination of Black & White or both Black caps.
If Chander wares white cap then Sunder may answered as
Black for himself. But Chander is wearing Black so there
are chances of wearing himself as Black or White caps. So
he is not in the position to conclude.

3. Based on the above 2 guys conclusion only option for
Chander to conclude for himself is wearing Black and
answered.

Answer / me boost!!!

person in back has three scenarios where he would be
uncertain; if the front combo is black and black or black
and white. knowing that, the person in front has one
scenario to be uncertain in in those two scenarios; if the
guy in front of him is wearing a white hat he knows that
his(second) hat will be black in order to make the third guy
uncertain but if the front most guy is wearing a black hat
then the second guy can be wearing either white or black.
knowing this, the frontmost guy will know he has a black hat.

Answer / akshay

color of chander's hat is black.
there r 3 condition of hats being kept aside
1. bb 2.ww 3. bw b=black c=chander
w=white s=sunder
m=maninder
1.bb
hence hats ther r wearing can have following possibilities
1.bww(in order i.e. chander is first)
now manider looks ahead and see black and white. hence he
says "i dont know".now s sees that c is wearing black he
thought that he can have any hat.in this cas c is wearing
black hat.
2.wwb-in this case maninder should have answer first that
he is having black because as he sees two white
ahead ,there r only two white hence i must be black.but he
didnt answer hence this case is not possible.

in this way u can answer each case

m writing all cases below. y in front of cases when any one
of sunder and maninder could have answered and n in front
of cases when both cannot answer.

bww=n
wwb=y
wbw=y

bbb=n

bbw=n
bwb=n
wbb=y

in all 'n' conditions chander is wearing black hence the
answer is black

Answer / mandi

Five caps: 3black , 2 white (B B B W W)
There are 4 cases:

Case no. Chander Sunder Maninder
1. W. W. B
2. W. B. Can't ans.
3. B. W. Can't ans.
4. B. B. Can't ans.
#maninder
only in 1st case maninder knows the answer and the in rest of three cases he doesn't know the answer.
as maninder replied to john that he doesn't know the answer which means that the possible color combination of caps that Chander n sunder are wearing may be WB, BW, BB.

Case no. Chander. Sunder. Maninder
1. W. W. B.
2. W. B. Can't ans.
3. B. Can't ans. Can't ans.
4. B. Can't ans. Can't ans.
#sunder
Sunder has heard that maninder doesn't know the answer from that he concluded that Chander and me(sunder) are not wearing WW combination.
if Chander is wearing white cap and if WW combination is not possible then sunder would have answered immediately as black cap for himself but he didnt answer that means WB combination is also nt possible.(i.e.chander nt wearing white cap)
And as per the case no.3 & 4 sunder doesn't know the answer only when Chander is wearing black cap.

So from this concluding that chander is wearing black cap.
