Yersinia is a genus of bacteria in the family
Enterobacteriaceae. Yersinia are Gram-negative rod shaped
bacteria, a few micrometers long and fractions of a
micrometer in diameter, and are facultative anaerobes. Some
members of Yersinia are pathogenic in humans.
