Geometrical Isomerism occurs in Alkenes only but not in
Alkanes and Alkynes.
Why?

Answer Posted / t. mathew

Geometrical isomerism exist only when there is a chance that two structural/
configurational orientations are possible which are distinguishable, due to
restricted or impossible rotation about the bonds concerned, that is in alkene
the double bond. The two orientations are when the bulkier groups on the same
(Z) side or the opposite side (E) of the double bond. in alkanes, due to the free
rotation about the single bonds, such isomerism does not exist. In alkynes,
there are not enough substituents, that can distinguish for geometrical
isomerism
