It is to detect the production of acid during fermentation
of glucose .five drops of 0.04% solution of methyl red are
added to the culture in glucose phosphate medium incubated
at 30 C for five days .red colour is positive and yellow
shows that it is a negative bacteria.so it very helpful in
bacteria identification.
