What is emf and how is it used to arrange Metals in
Reactivity Series?
Answer Posted / seema
Emf- Electro motive force. There is a standard value of emf
for each element and this is assigned with respect to
hydrogen as hydrogen emf is taken as standard which is 0.00
and other are assigned positive or negative value on the
basis whether they act as oxidising or reducing agent with
respect to hydrogen. The same is the basis of arranging
these element in the reactivity series.
