Which hormones are produced by placenta? What is their significance?
Answer Posted / Ankit Gupta
The placenta produces several vital hormones, including human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), estrogen, and progesterone. hCG maintains the corpus luteum during early pregnancy; estrogen helps develop the female reproductive system and prepare the uterus for implantation; and progesterone supports the development of the embryo and prepares the mother's body for lactation.
