How does the embryo turn from gastrula into neurula? How is the neural tube formed? What is the embryonic origin of the nervous system in vertebrates?
Answer Posted / Kumud Pratap Singh
During gastrulation, the embryo changes its shape and forms a structure called the neurula. The neural tube is formed by invagination of the ectodermal layer, and it gives rise to the nervous system. In vertebrates, the neural tube develops into the brain and spinal cord.
