ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) is a versatile immunoassay technique used to quantify or detect substances (antigens, antibodies, hormones, etc.) in a sample. In ELISA, a solid surface is coated with an antigen, and then a solution containing the substance of interest is added. After washing away unbound substances, an enzyme-labeled antibody specific to the substance is introduced, followed by addition of a substrate that reacts with the enzyme to produce a measurable signal.
