Counter Current Immuno Electrophoresis (CIE) is a technique used for the separation and quantification of immunoglobulins (antibodies). In this method, the sample containing immunoglobulins is placed between two electrodes and an electric field is applied. Due to their different mobility in an electric field, the immunoglobulins separate into distinct bands or peaks based on their charge-to-size ratio.
