Explain eosinophils?

Answer Posted / Ram Kishan

Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell that play a role in immune responses against parasitic infections and allergies. They contain large granules within their cytoplasm, which release various chemicals such as enzymes (e.g., eosinophil peroxidase) and cytokines when stimulated. These chemicals contribute to inflammation, tissue damage, and recruitment of other immune cells.
