Glacial acetic acid has several industrial applications. It is used as a solvent for certain dyes, resins, gums, and waxes. It also acts as a stabilizer in photographic films and emulsions. In addition, it serves as a catalyst in the production of cellulose acetate and polyvinyl acetate.
