Explain what does held nucleons together in a nucleus?
Answer Posted / Pramod Singh Gunjiyal
Nucleons (protons and neutrons) within a nucleus are bound together by the strong nuclear force, which is one of the four fundamental forces in nature. This force acts between protons and neutrons at extremely short distances, much stronger than electromagnetic force that repels charged particles like protons. The strong nuclear force is responsible for holding the nucleus together, despite the electrostatic repulsion between positively charged protons.
