What is the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors?
Answer Posted / Dheeraj Kumar Dubey
Intrinsic semiconductors are pure silicon or germanium, which have equal numbers of electrons and holes. Extrinsic semiconductors, on the other hand, have been intentionally doped with impurities to increase their conductivity, creating either n-type (more electrons) or p-type (more holes) semiconductors.
