A car traveling at 30mph ( =13.4 m/s) & it slams on its brakes. ( The car is decelerated by the force of the friction 0.7..f *distance x. (Weight=mg) how far will the cargo before it stops?
Answer Posted / Dipanker Sharma
First, let's find the acceleration due to friction: a = -0.7f * distance_x = -0.7 * (mg / v^2) * distance_x = (-0.7 * 9.81 m/s² * mass of car) / (13.4 m/s)^2 * distance_x, where mass is in kg and distance_x is in meters. To find the distance before stopping, integrate this equation with initial conditions at t=0: v(t)=v(0)-a*t or 0 = v(0) - ((-0.7 * 9.81 m/s² * mass of car) / (13.4 m/s)^2) * t, and solve for t. The distance before stopping is the product of time and the initial velocity.
