What formula is most appropriate to compute the kinetic energy of a block of ice sliding down an inclined plane?
Answer Posted / Rakhi Verma
K.E = 1/2 mv^2, where m is the mass and v is the velocity (which can be found by considering the components of motion along the incline). However, since this question involves an inclined plane, it's more appropriate to use the equation K.E = mgh cos(θ), where h is the height above the bottom of the incline, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and θ is the angle of the incline.
