Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition in which the heart cannot pump blood efficiently enough to meet the body's needs. Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, swelling in the legs, and rapid or irregular heartbeat. Treatment options for CHF may include medications, lifestyle changes, devices like pacemakers, and, in some cases, surgery.
