Explain phelloids

Answer Posted / Harshit Sharma

Phelloids are chemical substances found in certain plant tissues, primarily in the bark of trees. They are usually yellowish or brownish lumps and have a waxy texture. Phelloids are formed due to a reaction between damaged wood cells and various enzymes present in the tree. They help in the healing process by sealing off injured areas.
