Electrophoresis is a laboratory technique used to separate biological macromolecules, such as DNA, RNA, and proteins, based on their electrical charges. The mixture of these molecules is placed between two electrodes in a gel or buffer solution. When an electric field is applied, the molecules move towards the oppositely charged electrode due to their charge.
