Type IV hypersensitivity, also known as delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH), is a cell-mediated immune response in which T lymphocytes are activated by antigens. This type of hypersensitivity involves the formation of granulomas and has a slower onset than other types of hypersensitivity reactions.
