Explain about the Stone Age tool technology and economic patterns in India?
Answer Posted / Minakshi Rani
Stone Age tool technology in India began with the Old Stone Age (Paleolithic period) around 1.5 million years ago and continued through the Middle Stone Age (Mesolithic period) up to around 6000 BCE. The primary tools used during this period were made of stone, bone, and antler. Stone tools included hand axes, flint knives, cleavers, scrapers, and arrowheads. Economic patterns during the Stone Age in India were primarily based on hunting, gathering, and fishing. Evidence suggests that early humans also practiced some agriculture, particularly the cultivation of millets and pulses. The shift from a nomadic lifestyle to more settled communities marked the end of the Stone Age and the beginning of the Neolithic period.
