Derive the conditions for stability of a two-dimensional
linear system.

In dynamics, a separatrix is a trajectory or surface in the phase space of a system that divides the region of attraction of two stable equilibria (or limit cycles) or other periodic solutions. The separatrix acts as a barrier that prevents nearby trajectories from moving between the basins of attraction of the two attractors.
