What are the fundamental ways to estimate visual motion in
1-D?

Answer Posted / Suraj Prakash Tiwari

In one-dimensional (1-D) scenarios, visual motion can be estimated using two fundamental methods: a) Velocity Estimation through Optic Flow: This method involves measuring the change in the position of an image feature over time. b) Motion Detection using Edge Detection and Correlation: This method first detects edges within the image and then correlates them across time to find the displacement due to motion.
