What is STP and what is the difference between PVST and RSTP

Answer Posted / Kunwar Pal Singh

SPanning Tree Protocol (STP) is a network protocol used to prevent loops in Layer 2 networks by disabling unnecessary ports and creating a loop-free topology. Per-VLAN Spanning Tree Plus (PVST+) is an extension of STP that creates a separate instance of the STP for each VLAN, providing finer control over network convergence.n Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) is an enhanced version of STP, offering faster convergence times and improved reliability by reducing the number of message exchanges required for topology changes.
