The clock strikes twice for every hour (once on the hour and once before the hour ends), so it will take 30 seconds for each hour hand to move from 6 to 12. To get the time, we multiply the number of hours by 30 and add 30 seconds for the initial position. So, the clock will take (11*30) + 30 = 330 secs or 5 minutes and 30 seconds to strike 12 at midnight.
