Without saturation of transport proteins and under same concentration gradient how can the speed of simple diffusion be compared to the speed of facilitated diffusion?

Under the same conditions (same concentration gradient, no transport protein saturation), simple diffusion will generally be slower than facilitated diffusion. This is because facilitated diffusion involves carrier proteins that can move the solute more efficiently than random Brownian motion in simple diffusion.
