What is the structure that maintains identical chromatids bound?

Answer Posted / Munish Kumar

The cohesin complex is the structure that maintains identical chromatids bound during prophase of meiosis and mitosis. It consists of four core subunits (SMC1, SMC3, SCC1/SA1, and SA2/STAG) which form a ring-like structure around each chromatid, connecting them at the regions known as chiasmata.
