What do facilitated diffusion and active transport have in common? What are the differences between them?
Answer Posted / Rohitash Kumar
Both Facilitated Diffusion and Active Transport involve the movement of molecules across a membrane. They share a common mechanism of using specific carrier proteins to move substances. However, Facilitated Diffusion is passive (doesn't require energy) and moves substances along their concentration gradient, while Active Transport requires energy (ATP) and can move substances against their concentration gradient.
